Wasn't the All Saints Party great? Thank you again to all the volunteers that made it possible! I have set up an account at Kodak to share pictures. I am not sure how well it will work, but we can give it a shot. I have uploaded my pictures from the party and hope that you will choose a few of your favorites and upload them to the site. After a few days, I will send out an email that invites everyone to look at the photos.
Here's how... go to http://www.kodakgallery.com/Signin.jsp?&c=hom_signin_vis and enter stvincentsallsaints@yahoo.com as the email address and boo2you as the password. Choose the "Upload Photos" tab. Then, choose the link that says "add photos to an existing album." Next, choose the All Saints Party album by clicking on it. Then, follow the directions on how to select photos to upload. Good luck and thanks for sharing! Ms. Lynne

I wanted to share with you a show I recently discovered on PBS. (I think it's pretty new.) It's called Word World. If you have the DVDs Leap Frog Letter Factory and Word Factory, it is similar to those. In WordWorld, words come alive, words save the day, and words become a child’s best friend. This show is perfect for emerging readers and those learning to recognize letters.
In WordWorld the WordFriends go on comic adventures and face challenges that can only be resolved with the right word. That word is built letter by letter, sound by sound, during the funky “Build a Word” song at the end of every episode. Once the word is built, it “morphs”–comes alive–into the thing it is! Word building reinforces the pre-reading concept that letters (and their sounds) make words, and that words have real meaning…and power. The series also introduces literacy concepts that preschoolers will encounter as they become readers, such as sounding out letters and rhyming. But most of all, WordWorld helps children get excited about reading and see words as their friends. The shows airs at 11:30am and 2:30pm on WMFE Channel 24 (Channel 2 on Brighthouse Cable). They also have some neat games on line. For more info, go to the web site http://pbskids.org/wordworld/parentsandteachers/index.html. Tuesday, October 2

The Thanksgiving Luncheon has been changed to FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH AT 12:30pm.
And here's the exciting opportunity.... If you have a product/business that you would like to showcase with your St.Vincent's family, here's your chance! As a fundraiser for the school, one hour prior to the Thanksgiving Luncheon, you can set up a table in the Parish Hall and attendees will have the opportunity to shop before the children join us for lunch. If you are interested in hosting a table, please contact Kim or Julieann in the school office at 407-843-1997. Monday, October 1

Photographer Katie Kaufmann will be at St. Vincent's THIS WEEK on Wednesday, October 3rd and Thursday, October 4th.
Ms. Kaufmann takes candid black and white photos. You do not need to be present and there is no obligation to buy. In a few weeks, you will receive an 11x14 proof with ordering information. In years past, reprints have been received in time for the holidays. Siblings are welcome. Let me know if you plan to do that so I can give you some time references so you are not waiting around all morning.

A great time was had by all at the Green Meadows Farm field trip! St. Vincent's children were broken into two groups, and each group went on a guided tour of the farm! The children were able to meet all of the farm animals up close and personal. They were able to pet baby chicks and ducks, walk around in the chicken coop, ride ponys, and even received a lesson in milking a cow! After a hearty lunch, the children loaded up on the train for an exciting tour of the countryside. And what trip to a farm would be complete without a genuie hay ride? Everyone was even able to pick out thier own pumkins from the pumkin patch! Thanks to everyone for making this field trip a wonderful and educating day! Friday, October 6

The children were able to climb onboard the Fire Engine and check it out up close! All the Jr. Firefighters received official firehats, and had a great time! |
